NBA All-Star Game: East 163 - West 155

Watch NBA All-Star Game Recap from NBA.com Watch the video

MVPKyrie Irving (East)

2014 NBA All-Star was a big scoring party with several records: Most points in a half (Kyrie Irving 24), most points in a half - team (West 89), most points in a half - both teams (165), most points in a game - team (East 163) and most points in a game - both teams (318). Besides, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin scored 38 points apiece, really close to Wilt Chamberlain 42 in 1962, and the most points scored by two teammates in a game.

A quick start by the East (11-2 in 2 minutes) was the first sign, but the East won't have another advantage until the last three minutes of the game. Three players almost made a new scoring record in the first half: Carmelo Anthony (20 points) in the East, Blake Griffin (20 including 8 dunks) and Kevin Durant (22). Just a few points short of Glen Rice record of 24 points in 1997. Chris Paul was a game changer for the West with 9 assists from the bench.

In the third quarter the West team started making a lot of threes to achieve a +18 advantage, but a furious rally leaded by some East bench players and future MVP Kyrie Irving gave some hope to the fans to enjoy a good last quarter. Carmelo Anthony 3-pointers (he scored 8, a new record too) were essential to seal the East victory, their first in the last four years.

Kevin Durant is the only player to score at least 30 points in the NBA All-Star Game four times. Durant mark is impressive, he did it in four consecutive All-Star Games.
